With marriage equality moving forward in the states and our own city council voting to recognize same sex marriages from other jurisdications, we have the opportunity to have a citywide conversation about marriage equality, and the LGBT community in general, that hasn't happened before in the District of Columbia.
Over the next 45 days a resolution supporting marriage equality in DC will be introduced at meetings of DC's 8 Ward Democratic organizations.
This is just a start, we are laying the foundation for framing the conversation around marriage equality in the District. The 8 Ward Democratic organizations represent thousands of active Democrats across this city who we will need on our side to fight off an anti-marriage equality campaign.
